Corky and Laurie…a Love Story
Ready about Laurie’s experience at Angels Pet World, where she met Corky and it was love at first sight!
In an effort to kill some time before my flight to Las Vegas, I popped into Angel’s Pet World. The first thing I noticed were all the adorable puppy faces looking at me. There was a variety of little puppies that came in all shapes and colors. I thought, how could someone ever choose one?
I didn’t need to look long before I laid eyes on my new love. There he was, with his perfect little face and big innocent eyes looking right at me. My heart just melted! I did not have any intention of getting a dog. I knew it was not good timing as I was on my way to the airport for a week long business trip, not to mention I did not have time to discuss it with my husband. I had no choice but to leave Angel’s and catch my flight. I boarded the plane and during the whole flight I had the burning image of the sweet puppy face etched in my mind.
I was in Vegas only a few hours when I called a friend of mine and told her about my “love at first sight” experience at Angel’s. I explained exactly what the puppy looked like. He was a cute white Cava-Poo, I told her. I had even given him a name, Corky! She told me that a friend of hers explained seeing a puppy somewhere recently that looked identical to Corky. I immediately panicked. I abruptly cut the conversation short with my friend and got on the line with Angel’s. I inquired about “Corky,” worried sick that he was gone. The Sales Associate said a customer was holding him as we spoke and was seriously considering adopting him!
I instructed the Associate to snatch the puppy out of the the hands of the other woman and I whipped out my credit card and told her to run my card immediately! I asked her to put up a sign that read “CORKY IS SOLD!” As soon as my plane landed I couldn’t get to Angel’s fast enough. Then I arrived and there he was, smiling at me as if to say, “Finally! I thought you would never get here!” I brought my new puppy home and he acclimated to his new environment right away. My love for Corky grew more every day, so much so that I decided to get him a brother. Shortly thereafter we added “Jack” our Shih-Chon to our family. I was always a little skeptical of love at first sight, but now I am a true believer.
Thank you Angel’s for my sweet puppies! They bring so much fun and happiness to our home! Some things are just undeniably meant to be!
