Apps We Love!

Since apps have become a part of our everyday life, Angel’s Pet World wants to share with you two of our favorite apps that give back to the animal rescue community, and are also kind of fun!

Walk For a Dog is smartphone and GooglePlay compatible app that tracks your walks, runs, and bike rides with your dog and gives money to a rescue or shelter of your choice.

The app gives approximately 11 – 25 ¢ per mile. You can also track your impact by seeing how many people are walking in support of the same shelter as you. Hundreds of rescues and shelters are available as choices including Across America Boxer Rescue, Greyhound Pets of America, and even Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue, all of which Angel’s Pet World partners with in their rescue efforts.

Now, there’s an easy way that the entire community and even multiple communities can get involved without spending money out of their own pockets. All you have to do before you go for a walk is open the app, and Walk For a Dog will handle the rest.

The second app we love is Purrrsuit, powered by World’s Best Cat Litter. This app has limited levels but unlimited benefits. Dunn County Animal Humane Society (some of our cattery cats are from there) was picked nationally along with four other rescues to benefit from this app. For every level you pass, World’s Best Cat Litter donates a certain poundage of litter to Dunn County and other rescues. They’re donating up to 90,000 pounds of litter, and all you have to do is click the cats to make them purr.

You can download this app on your phone or a computer, although we recommend using a computer because it’s easier to click the cats and pass the levels. You can play as many times as you’d like at any time, so there’s no limit to the amount of litter you’re donating!
